Level 2 Allergen Awareness – Food Safety Logic

Who should go on this course?

Food handlers and front of house staff involved in food preparation and service who work in the catering industry.

Why is this training important?

Everyone who sells or serves food must make sure by law that it is safe to eat, and employers must make sure their staff are suitably trained to ensure they are allergy aware and understand the importance of giving accurate information to customers who have food allergies/intolerances.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding of the characteristics and effects of food allergens and foods that commonly cause intolerances.
  • Understanding of the procedures for identifying and controlling contamination from allergenic ingredients.
  • Understanding of the importance of and procedures for accurate communication of allergen information for consumers.

PRINCE2® Foundation and Practitioner – MBIT Training Ltd

PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a project management framework and approach which enables any Project Manager to plan and to manage a project soundly.

PRINCE2 is established within the UK Public and Private sectors and is valued for the fact that procedures and processes are the same regardless of the project details.

PRINCE2® Foundation and Practitioner is a combined course containing both of the PRINCE2® Foundation and PRINCE2® Practitioner certification exams. Having successfully passed both exams you will be ready to work as a qualified Project Manager upon completion of the 4-day course.

  • PRINCE2® (PRojects IN Controlled Environment version 2) can be used to management projects of any size and from any sector.
  • PRINCE2® is highly regarded and is used by the private sector, the UK public sector and is recognised internationally.

Course Details

This course has no prerequisites, although it is essential that delegates already have experience of working in projects before attending this course. This course is not suited to any persons without Project Management experience.

This course is intended for people who are re-certifiying their PRINCE2, or are working as a Project Manager or Project Officer / Assistant. You may already hold the following certifications:

  • PRINCE2® Foundation/PMP®/CAPM® Certified

  • Certified Senior Project Manager

PRINCE2® is a product or process based approach used for management of almost all types of projects. This PeopleCert accredited training course introduces delegates to various project management methodologies and provides a thorough understanding of roles, principles, processes and themes that form the structure of PRINCE2®. It will enable you to achieve goals on time and within the set budget, also providing you with the skills required to become an active member of a successful project management team.

The duration of the training course is four days, with the Practitioner exam taking place at the close of day 4.

  • Concentrates on knowledge and understanding of PRINCE2
  • 60 multiple choice questions
  • 1 hour to complete
  • 55% pass rate or achieve 33/60
  • Normally taken at 3pm on the third day of the training course
PRINCE2 Practitioner Exam
  • Concentrates on the practical application of PRINCE2
  • Objective test format (multiple choice question format)
  • 68 questions
  • 2.5 hours to complete
  • 55% pass rate or achieve 38/68

Level 3 Allergen Management for Caterers – Food Safety Logic

Who should go on this course?

Supervisors/managers who work in the catering industry and already have level 2 in Food Safety in Catering and/or Level 2 in Food Allergen Awareness.

Why is this training important?

Everyone who sells or serves food must make sure by law that it is safe to eat, and employers must make sure their supervisors and managers who have a responsibility for food safety including allergen management within their business are suitably trained.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding of the different roles in ensuring food ingredients and allergens are effectively managed and the characteristics of common food allergens.
  • The importance of accurate communication from supplier to customer.
  • The procedures relating to the control of contamination and cross contamination of allergenic ingredients in a catering environment.

Course Content:

  • Allergic reactions, symptoms, treatments, demographics and statistics
  • The 14 Common allergenic ingredients
  • Legislation and Guidance of labelling requirements for pre-packed and loose food
  • The pre-requisites of Good Hygiene Practice and Allergen Control
  • Practical control measures from supplier to customer
  • Staff Training
  • Allergen Policies and Verification Methods

Duration of course:

One day (+ 3 hours recommended pre-course learning)
